Virdi.no is a platform where users can list their properties. It has over 100k monthly visitors, which gives homeowners exposure to a big crowd of potential buyers. The major difference between Virdi.no and the ordinary property listing board is that Virdi.no uses AI & Machine Learning to provide insights for both owners and buyers plus all properties are listed on a map. This helps set a fair price based on transactions in the market, but also other important aspects – like proximity to POIs (schools, bus/metro stations, office areas, etc.).

As a Python developer at Virdi, you will join a small & experienced team of passionate developers where you will be responsible for new features and fixing existing issues (80/20 split). Let's be honest, some of their code is less than ideal and they need help in improving it, so one of the focus areas for a new person will be improving automated tests coverage.
They are running on Python 3.8, Angular 8. Github + Jenkins as CI, Amazon Container Service – docker as a service. Postgres database, a little bit of ElasticSearch. They use a lot of gradient boosting from the ML perspective. 

Main responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Python back-end
• Working closely with design, front-end and a data scientist to create innovative products
• Developing and implementing complex algorithms
• Designing and developing APIs
• Refactoring and improving the codebase
• Figuring out how to solve real problems for the end user

Requirements

Must have

• 3+ years of experience as a back-end web developer
• 3+ years of work experience in Python
• 2+ years of experience in developing RESTful APIs
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Good if you also have:

• Strong knowledge in best practices of web development (SEO, web performance, etc.)
• Strong in-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment)
• Strong experience in relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Strong knowledge in Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
• Deep understanding and ability to balance the need for shipping features with code quality
• Good scout attitude
• Good at test automation
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Bonus points for

• Competencies in algorithms and software architecture
• Familiarity with front-end languages, like HTML, JavaScript/Typescript
• Ability to write clear documentation
• Sense of humor (it's actually a must have 😉 )
